quality stock and continuity of supply.
A 32meg license to main storage dam plus a 3.5meg lined recycling dam provide water security.
Environmental Policy;
From inception a property management plan has
been implemented to protect the flora, fauna and unique water catchment
of the 14ha site, which boasts 143 native flora species and a subtropical rainforest
remnant of heritage significance. Management is committed to industry best practice as the nursery expands and develops with the aim of gaining Accreditation. The nursery recycles all irrigated water in a closed system, protecting the surrounding environment from runoff.
MYRTLE RUST POLICY:
Myrtle Rust is a disease newly introduced to Australia with the potential to effect many native plants. Symtoms include bright yellow spores on leaf and brownish-red leaf spotting.
We are learning that some plants have a high level of resistance to the disease, ie exhibiting little or no leaf spotting to date, while others have proven highly susceptible.
It is the policy of BWN not to grow plants
highly susceptible to Myrtle Rust.
BWN has implemented the NGIA Myrtle Rust Management Plan. All Myrtaceae stock is treated by preventative and curative fungicide as described in 1A 18.1
